Wanting to bring a little bit ofWest Coast cool (and the popular David famous burger) to Tokyo, David opened this California-inspired restaurant at Mitsukoshi in the Ginza shopping district.
Expanding in Asia, David landed in Tokyo with his patisserie located in Mitsukoshi Ginza, and Isetan Shinjuku that offers luxurious cakes, chocolates and other confections.
Sona was David’s first founded creation in Los Angeles, earning him a Michelin star. Best new Chef by Food & Wine magazine, a James Beard nomination for Best Chef – Pacific, Restaurant of the Year by Angeleno magazine, and numerous 5 star reviews. Widely proclaimed as one of the best restaurants in the country, David redefined fine dining in Los Angeles with a seasonally inspired, modern, Californian menu. Although Sona closed in 2010, it continues to set the standard for David’s obsession with quality ingredients and the celebration of global cuisine.
